Black and gold. Black can stand for elegance, seriousness, credibility and seduction and be perceived as such. However, black can also be very dominant, gloomy and heavy. Gold, on the other hand, is the color of success and victory. The color gold is associated with prosperity, luxury, quality, value and elegance.
During the creation of the work, however, other thoughts and associations came to the fore. Sometimes things are not what they seem. Because at first glance, some things – or some people – appear unapproachable, invulnerable and perhaps hard. On the inside, however, there may be a vulnerable, insecure, benevolent golden soul that doesn’t dare to jump over its own shadow (at least once or twice).
And so often only the outer appearance remains. Unapproachable, invulnerable and perhaps hard … Hard shell, soft core. Or in other words: Dark soul with a heart of gold.
