Reduction and minimal art. Symbols on the surface that determine life. Elements, fears and desires combined.
Four elements – fire, water, air, earth – the origin of all existence. In addition, there is a sign that symbolizes all fears. Those fears, whether justified or unfounded, that constrict and block life itself. The artist has experienced and continues to experience ups and downs due to illness. Without wanting or being able to explain it in detail, this work as a whole has a deep meaning for the artist.
Air: Thoughts know no boundaries; like air, they permeate everything.
Fire: Fire and energy are vital. They provide light and warmth. Fire is also used to purify, by burning many things in order to free oneself from them.
Water: All life comes from water, it purifies, flows, evades and finds its way. Water represents the forces within us and its vessel is the chalice. In terms of symbolism, water stands for great sensitivity and empathy.
Earth: In turbulent times, the symbolism of this element stands for the rock in the surf, one would stand with both feet firmly on the ground. All matter around us comes from this earth, every stone, every plant.
We should take a walk and try to notice all these gifts of our earth. The little things often mean the big things.
