Euphrosia – the name of this work is derived from the female name Euphrosine. It comes from Greek mythology and is one of the three Graces. The name can be literally translated from ancient Greek. The female first name Euphrosine means joy and cheerfulness.
The work was created using the colors black, white and red with the addition of gold and copper pigments. A very interesting surface was created by incorporating a grainy structure. The work with the palette knife and the partial mixing directly on the canvas resulted in a color gradation up to a gray. As with the name, the colors create joy and cheerfulness, and the addition of the metallic colors also radiates a certain elegance and pride.
