BJÖRN WIEDEMANN
I am a visual artist working in abstract and non-objective painting. My work is a dialog between chance, intuition and conscious intention that creates texture and emotional depth.
Non-objective painting, an expression of my self-taught freedom, communicates on a subconscious level and allows for multiple individual interpretations. For me, art is a constantly growing and evolving process and always remains open to new discoveries.
Through solo and group exhibitions, as well as online presences, I have been able to start building a network of collectors, other artists, curators and art lovers.
A new world opens up through art. A world that connects.
Artist Statement
Art is subjective. Personal. Explorative. Transformative. Introspective.
Keywords that stand for me and my art. This description embodies less a dogma than a living and constantly self-challenging reality. I am free in my art.
My painting, characterized by introspection and continuous development, found a turning point in 2021 in the confrontation with personal challenges and accompanied by many years of severe depression. In this phase of my life around 2021, I not only found an anchor in art, but also a compass. It serves me as a quiet but powerful language to translate inner thoughts and emotions into expressive colors and forms.
My experimental approach avoids the restricted path of traditional styles. I choose the free path of non-objective art, in which I break barriers and channel subconscious sensations into abstract compositions. The process of creating a work is not only an artistic one, but also an introspective one. What begins with a rough idea or color concept is soon taken over by the unpredictability of the moment, chance and my own intuition.
My tools of choice – from traditional brushes to custom-built instruments – are as varied as the techniques I use. My works are not only representations, but also dialogs. Each painting is both a personal reflection and an invitation to the viewer to lose themselves in the web of colors and textures, to recognize their own stories and embark on a journey of self-discovery and interpretation.
In art, I find a balance between freedom and structure, between planned intention and random inspiration. This constant dance of contrasts allows me to approach my own emotional landscape layer by layer, brushstroke by brushstroke, and follow a path of healing and constant evolution.
For me, art has no fixed goal, but is an endless, dynamic process. It is a guide through the complex labyrinth of life, a constant search for harmony and balance, acceptance and inner peace. It is this relentless search that makes my art both powerful and universal, an echo of the human experience that resonates in every viewer.
My artistic influences are works by Gerhard Richter, Pierre Soulages, Mark Rothko and Franz Kline.

Abstraction & Minimalism
Non-figurative painting is clearly ambiguous and presents the viewer with a task, often also a riddle. It challenges and encourages the imagination.
The minimalist works, on the other hand, are a clear understatement. These works impress with their simplicity and fascinate with their effect despite their reduction. Less is more.
