Painting as a process – in dialogue with expressionism and informal art

My painting moves between informal art and abstract expressionism. For me, color, form, and surface are at the forefront of my work, not storytelling or representation. Accompanied by structured, layered areas of color with a noticeable texture.

I am interested in the tension between control and intuition – that fragile area where the image begins to develop a life of its own. Layer by layer, something emerges that was not planned. I work in a process-oriented way, without a fixed idea of the result. What counts is the moment when something becomes tangible.

My paintings are not answers. They open up spaces – sometimes powerful, sometimes quiet. They do not arise from a desire for decoration, but from a need to make something visible that cannot be put into words.

I do not follow any school or style in the narrow sense. I follow what feels honest in the moment. I am well aware of the demand for perfection. In art, I am attracted to the uncontrolled – that which cannot be planned.
