Studio greeting cards – A postcard project in 20 parts

This postcard project was created as an independent artistic work in the studio. The starting point was a coherent abstract painting that was not intended as a single work, but was deliberately divided into 20 fragments. Each postcard is part of this one picture. Individually in the excerpt, but connected by color, structure, and the process.

The works were created on high-quality cardboard and worked on together as a large surface. Only after the painting process were the individual cards separated from each other. The result is a series in which each postcard is an autonomous work and at the same time remains part of a whole.

The color palette is deliberately reduced and harmonious. The focus is on layering, materiality, and the moment of creation. The white edges frame each work and make the original context still visible.

The 20 hand-signed and numbered cards went to buyers and collectors, as well as to people who have become part of my artistic journey in different ways. Today, the postcards exist in various locations: as small original works from the studio, connected by a common origin.

Design of the cards

I deliberately designed each postcard on both sides. The front features the abstract painted surface, complemented by subtle embossing and handwritten numbering within the series. The back bears a greeting written on an analog typewriter, my personal signature, and the individually addressed envelope with a stamp. I deliberately chose the classic postcard style and the real postal service: I like the analog character of the hand-painted surface, writing with a mechanical typewriter, and the journey the work takes through the mail. In this way, painting, writing, and the postal service combine to form an independent artistic expression.
