Embracing Simplicity

Embracing Simplicity – With this artwork, I’m trying to give simplicity some space. Reduction often sounds easy, but it isn’t. It takes courage to do without the loud, the obvious, and perhaps even the excessive. And maybe practice, too. Omission, in particular, is often quite difficult in non-representational painting.

At first glance, the painting appears still, bright, and understated. But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear that this surface is not flawless and is not simply white. Subtle traces, slight overlays, and uneven areas remain visible. That is precisely the intention.

Despite its minimalism, this painting brings me a sense of calm. It doesn’t feel empty, but rather open and soothing. It invites you to unwind and pay closer attention to the few details. I want to convey this feeling of stillness, clarity, and quiet relaxation through this work.
